It only takes 15 days to travel from Xiamen to Moscow, which undoubtedly further promotes the external development and foreign trade exchanges of Xiamen enterprises.
According to the latest data from the Ministry of Transport of China, from January to the end of November this year, a total of about 14,000 CR express traveled, transporting 1.332 million TEUs, an increase of 23% and 30% year-on-year respectively. This is the second time since last year that the number of CR express has exceeded 10,000.
Except the increase in trade volume between China and Europe, rail transport is undoubtedly an environmentally friendly mode of transport at a time when all countries are emphasizing low carbon and emission reduction. The carbon emissions of rail transport are about 95% lower than those of airplanes and more than 80% lower than those of road transport. For every 40-foot (12-meter) container transported, the carbon dioxide emissions of trains are only 4% of those of freighters.
Rail transport is both economical and timely. The operating time of the CR express is one-fourth of that of sea freight, and the price is about one-fifth of that of air freight. It can facilitate the transportation of bulk e-commerce products, light industry and high-tech electronic products that require delivery sooner. This provides a more convenient and faster transportation method for our solar brackets.
Because of the emergence of CR express, shipping is no longer the only option for transporting large quantities of goods. Since 2020, the global shipping and air shipping capacity has been hampered by the global outbreak of the 2019 COVID-19, resulting in a sharp increase in shipping freight. In 2020, CR express will operate a total of 12,400 trains and send 1.135 million TEUs, an increase of 50% and 56% year-on-year respectively; 2021 From January to May 2019, China-Europe freight trains opened 5,991 trains and sent 573,000 TEUs, an increase of 49% and 58% year-on-year respectively.
If it is said that the post-epidemic trade demand and green logistics between China and Europe are the potential for the future development of CR express, there are also some drawbacks. For example, the popularity of China-Europe trains has directly led to the normalization of port congestion at home and abroad. In the overseas transportation section, various unpredictable geopolitical factors in 2021 have also added some uncertainty to the passage of China-Europe freight trains.
